17.10.17 Reading Week - Day 2

We enjoyed delving deeper into our Beatrix Potter text today and created wanted posters for devious Sanuel Whiskers and his penickity wife Anna Maria. The children used lots of text evidence in their writing and we used these to create a book to give to Beatrix Potter when she returns. Fantastic learning everyone!

We loved having Year 3 come and visit us for our Science Fair today.  Thank you so much for all the hard work the children put into their projects at home.  We were so impressed with them!

And look what the Year 3s discovered - this learner didn't know anything about the water cycle before the Science Fair!

Next half term we are going to be doing lots of work around multiplication and division so instead, this week and over half term, please can you practise your times tables. We need to know up to 12x12 by the end of Year 4. Thank you for all your support!

Here are some of our amazing writers who produced some exciting diary entries as Stitch Head. We loved your ambitious vocabulary, the way you showed the characters's viewpoint and of course your brilliant presentation. We could see lots of evidence from your guided reading work which help your use of detail.

26.9.17 Our amazing writing...

Today we put our new persuasive writing skills to the test and wrote letters to try and persuade a local Councillor to keep Fulbert Freakfinder's circus open. We used alliteration, rhetorical questions, facts and figures and fantastic sentence starters to persuade. We are really impressed with all the children's progress. Well done Year 4!

22.9.17 French day - Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed all things French today. We definitely looked the part!

21.9.17 Year 4 were excited to read the words they found around the classroom today in guided reading and were able to make informed predictions. They then used some of this language to build their own sentences in English - some even managed to include clauses! We also showed great team work investigating our 4 digit numbers to see how many new numbers we could make before ordering them.
