Perfect technique here from the Westerhope pupil in the yellow against Throckley. Look at how the foil is perfectly scoring the winning point on the opponent’s chest guard!
Lots of really engaged learners around school. From super spellers and writers showing great progress to pupils developing their skills at home and our sports teams.
Year 4 Bikeability. Wow! The children worked so hard to achieve their Level 1 Bikeability. They learnt what to wear, how to check their bikes and how to stay safe on the roads. Fantastic work everyone!
Two pupils with determination and hard work today - both getting great outcomes in their different classes.
Year 6 had a visitor from a very special STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) ambassador recently. Dr Rinke Vinkenoog is a lecturer at Northumbria University and he came in to teach the children about evolution and adaptation. Rinke was also Mr Bell's lecturer when he was at University studying for his MSc in Biotechnology seven years ago.
Chris, a STEM ambassador and student of Rinke's at Northumbria University, also came to help deliver the session. It was great to have 'real scientists' share their incredible knowledge and expertise with us. Have a look at 'Curriculum in Action' for more details.
Some great costumes for World Book Day this week.
