World Down Syndrome Day 2018
Today we have been rocking with our odd socks for World Down Syndrome Day 2018.
We we have also been learning all about how important respect is.
The Great Fire of Newcastle and Gateshead
We really enjoyed our trip to the Discovery Museum.
Whilst at the Museum we took part in a workshop about 'The Great Fire of Newcastle and Gateshead'. We used information from the museum's archives to help us to piece together the events that happened in 1854.
We we are now going to use our new knowledge to teach Year 2 about the event as they have been learning about 'The Great Fire of London'.
We we also had time to visit the other parts of the Museum; Newcastle Story, Story of the Tyne and Scuence Maze.
This half term we have been learning all about fractions in Maths.
We have been using concrete objects and pictures to help us to understand fractions.
Visit it our parent support page to find out more about how to add and subtract fractions.
Reading in Year 5 - books build brains
We love reading in Year 5!
This is half term we are reading a poem called The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. This poem was published in 1906, just after the Victorian Era.
World Book Day 2018
We really enjoyed our World Book Day. The snow cannot stop us enjoying books.
Our theme this year was all about retelling Greek Myths.
