Reading week
Jarrow Hall
We had lots of fun learning all about the Anglo-Saxons at Jarrow Hall!
We visited an Anglo-Saxon farm and village!
We also learned all about the Anglo-Saxon punishments and battles.
Ada Lovelace Day
In the morning, we learned about Mae Jemmison, who was the first African American woman in space. We read about her life and achievements and we created Kennings poems about her achievements in the shape of constellations.
A sprinkle of 'School of Kindness' in Year 4...
We explored 'Kindness' today with Mrs Hay. Our lovely learners shared their thoughts of the meaning of being kind and what it looks like in every day life - such wonderful, caring responses!
Today in Maths we used lolly sticks to practise learning the Roman numerals to 100!
In year 4 we want to be great readers! To help us understand the text, we have been learning how to talk a text when we are reading it. This involves reading a text and making comments about what we have read. Watch the video below for an example of us talking the text.
