What a fantastic start to our reading week at Westerhope...we were joined by the wonderful MISS POTTER herself! Our lovely little Reception classes joined Miss Potter and the rest of the school for a special assembly (we were so proud of how beautifully they sat and how well they listened!).

We were so lucky to have Miss Potter join us in class to help us learn more about the tales of Peter Rabbit, and then make some delicious Peter Rabbit biscuits! We can't believe this is just day one!!

We are very excited for our Westerhope reading week next week 16th October-19th October.

Please see our school letter below for a reminder of the exciting events happening in school.

p.s. Remember to dress up on Monday!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our Reception parent/carer workshop on Wednesday 11th October. It was so lovely to see you all. We hope it gave you a positive insight in to what your child's reception experience will be.

A picture to make you smile!

We love learning outdoors! Look at how we collected materials found in our garden to create a skeleton body.

Look what we discovered on our Investigation Station this week!

What a busy learning time we have had in Reception learning about shapes! We have been astounded with how eager our little learners have been in using mathematical vocabulary to name and describe 2D and 3D shapes, and how they apply such high quality vocabulary in their independent play - wow!

Just a little glimpse in to our fun French day in Reception!

What an incredible start to the school year for our Reception children! We are so proud of each and everyone of them. The children have settled in to school life so well and have impressed us every single day with their ability to make friends, meet new adults, follow new routines and explore their new classroom with enthusiasm. The classroom has such a lovely, warm, happy atmosphere - it's going to be a fantastic year, we can just feel it!

We feel so honoured to be a part of your children's journey in beginning their school life here at Westerhope Primary School. We look forward to teaching your children and providing a stimulating learning environment whereby your child will flourish, feel happy and safe and reach for the stars through learning.
