Autumn 2

Our amazing reception learners have all been so good this year that they had a visit from a very generous Santa Claus! Merry Christmas everyone!

Our learners have been very busy today wrapping some Christmas numicon number surprises for friends, reading our special Christmas stories in the reading den, exploring our small world nativity scene and exploring our Christmas themed Funky Finger Station!

Our lovely learners celebrating their special day!

Our Christmas party was a hit! Lots of dancing, party games, yummy food, giggles and lots of fun was had!

What an amazing turn out for Class 2's Christmas dinner with a grown-up! Thank you so much for coming everyone!

Happy birthday to our little learner!

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our lovely Christmas lunch! The children had so much Christmassy fun!

We have had such a wonderful time preparing our classroom for Christmas. We worked really well as a class team!

It's that magical time of the year again!

The run up to Christmas is such a special time for us in reception.

Everyday is filled with so much sparkle and fun

(and lots and lots of glitter!)

We have been going 'Yucky Worms' learning crazy! We are now proud carers of our very own family of worms - welcome to our Reception class worms!

Thank you to all of our learners for their interesting facts you found out at home. Thank you for sharing them with your friends in class.

Our mud kitchen is well under way! The children have loved creating a fun mud dining experience! Let the mucky learning fun begin...

We were such lucky learners this morning to have the wonderful author of Yucky Worms, Vivian French, read her wonderful and yucky book to us! She was AMAZING!

The children listened so well and learned lots about using their imagination when writing their own stories! (We have been inspired so watch this space...!)

Here is a link to Vivian French's website for you to look at with your child:

Happy Secret Buddy Week!

We are so lucky in our Reception class to be surrounded by such wonderful, caring, thoughtful children. Our children are wonderful friends every day, although seeing the extra friendly sparkle this week for Secret Buddy week has made all friends and grown-ups in class incredibly proud (and melted our hearts numerous times this week!).

Thank you for being you!

One of our little learners made up this sweet little song for her friend...

"When you are lonely and you haven't got a friend, I'll give you a hug and I'll sing you a song!"

Children In Need Day!

Look at our little helpers making Paddington Bear his marmalade sandwiches (with a little tasting challenge thrown in!)

We have been learning how to order items by their weight and length this week...

One proud little artist!

Sending lots of birthday wishes to our little learner...

It's like Fenwick Newcastle heard about our Reception learning plans of Paddington Bear! Great minds...

Thank you to our school nurses, who visited our class to teach the children all about washing hands and how to be Germ Smart.

Bling Your Bike Halloween style! Thank you to all of our children who took part. Your bikes and scooters looked amazing! There was such a lovely atmosphere in school today and our Reception children were bursting with Halloween pride showing off their bling'd up wheels during the whole school bike parade!

Congratulations to our two Reception 'bling up your bike' winners!

Look at how much fun our learners had exploring pumpkin carving! The children used various tools to carve and scoop the pumpkin, using all of their senses to explore what surprises the pumpkins revealed inside!

So much Halloween learning to be had in Reception...

A shining example of how to make a friend smile! Kindness and thoughtfulness go a very long way.

We are very proud of our friend for her recent swimming achievement! Well done!

Please share with us anything you have done out of school which has made you proud so we can hear all about your achievements and celebrate in class!
