Healthy Schools Plus

In July 2017, we were awarded the Healthy School Plus award for our work developing the pupil voice and improving children's self esteem.

Our next priority...

Over the next two years, we are going to be promoting active travel in school. Ina recent survey, we discovered that only 23% children of our children actively travelled to school compared to 77% across Newcastle.

Our Actions...

  • To develop a School Travel Plan
  • Holding events such as Bike Breakfasts and Bling your Bike events
  • To achieve a Mode Shift Stars Award
  • School Council to encourage pupils to come to school on bikes and scooters
  • Bikeability training for Year 4 and 6
  • Attempt to improve road safety for the children's journeys to school.
