Curriculum Questionnaire

Thanks to those families who replied to out recent questionnaire about our curriculum offer. First of all it was great to see 141 responses - our highest return to date! This is an excellent return on which to base judgements. Mrs Russell will be sending out a complete summary but there were many highlights and also points to consider for the future.

It appears that most of those responding agree or strongly agree that their child is making progress across the curriculum (87%) and that they very much enjoy the curriculum topics (90%). Great also to see that children can talk about the reading they do in school (94%) - this is an excellent response and reflective of the development work in this area over the previous two years. However, we realise we need to continue to emphasise our ‘Curriculum Drivers’ so that more than 67% understand what underpins our curriculum as well as the ways in which our curriculum is delivered. Maths Mastery, for example, was known to 75% of our parents.

On the questions related to parental involvement, it is highly positive that 92% look at the website and have visited class pages to see the learning that is going on. Similarly, 89% of those responding were aware of the opportunities to come in to school to support learning.

For the future, we are aiming to look further at how we inform parents further about learning (73%) as well as the right amount of homework (77%). Please look out for further information on these areas as well as the full report. We will also be discussing these outcomes with our School Council.
