Day 1 in Berwick

Today we took a boat trip to the Farne Islands where we saw some seals, cormorants, shags, and puffins - we also had a look round Longstone Lighthouse where Grace Darling once lived. We heard about the drama of her famous rescue whilst touring the islands at low tide. We had lunch in Bamburgh and an afternoon on the sands. We arrived at the youth hostel in Berwick in time for our evening meal. We then had a walk around the town walls and a play in the park. We are hoping for an early night in order to get up for an early breakfast!
