We think getting pupils out and about is an extremely valuable learning experience. For this reason we have organised four super learning experiences for KS2 pupils that involve overnight stays. We also think it is important that parent and carers see the opportunities in advance so they can plan with their family.
With all of these activities we introduce aspects of the curriculum for that particular age group but also we attempt to develop self-confidence, social skills as well as looking at different environments. The activities below are all taking place in the summer term. Children will bring a letter home publicising the events so please return the consent form if you would like your child to take part.
Some of the activities involve the cost of meals and transport – these are factored into the cost of each trip. School subsidises all of the trips and a payment plan is available to pay over time if required. We therefore plan to run the following trips during 2017 and over the coming years:
Year 3 Camp Out Night - Thursday 29th June 2017
Cost: free
An opportunity to have a first night away with school to develop camp craft skills whilst camping on the school grounds with staff and children for one night. Pupils will be dropped off at around 8.00pm for a night under the stars. They will wake up at school the next day for outdoor cooking and forest school activities.
Year 4 Broomley Grange Outdoor Adventure – Thursday 13th July to Friday 14th July
