This week we are looking at STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and particularly everything concerned with bees! They are amazing creatures and we are greatly dependent upon them to pollinate plants. Mr Bell and Mr Coker launched Bee Week and shortly afterwards we were visited by an apiarist (bee keeper) who told us all about how he cares for his bees. He showed us how the hive is organised and how the beekeeping suit and the smoker works to make the bees easier to handle. He even brought in some of his own honey to taste in Reception!
