Videos and Photos on Social Media Websites

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for helping us to make our MADD week and particularly our MADD parade on Friday a huge success.

We understand that taking photos/videos of your children at school events is a proud moment and you want to share these with wider family members. However, can we please remind parents that it is paramount that these photos/videos do not appear on any social media websites if they include images of any children other than your own. Unfortunately, we have today been advised that footage from the MADD parade (including other children) is being shared on social media.

As a school we take the safety and wellbeing of all children very seriously. We are legally bound to protect the identity of some children and parents do not have the right to share any images of children, other than their own. With this in mind we are asking you to please respect our request and if you have uploaded anything on social media, which may contain images of other children, please remove it.

If parents/carers continue to abuse this policy within school-run events then we will have no other option than to ban all cameras from future events.

We thank you for your understanding and assistance in this matter.

Yours sincerely

Westerhope Primary School
