Welcome Back - Sept 2021

We look forward to seeing the children again on Tuesday 7th September 2021. Remember that the staggered start to the day will be retained from 8.40am until 8.55am and that the staggered end to the school day will finish - school will close at 3.15pm. Staff will continue to be at their classroom doors during this time. Please continue refrain from congregating around the school premises at these times and continue to contact the school office by phone if you have any queries. Pupils in our Early Years will have previously received their own information regarding the beginning of term also.

Our school will be operating with reference to the ‘Schools COVID-19 Operational Guidance’ document recently published by the DfE. Our new risk assessment is published on our COVID 19 section of the website. The following measures that most affect pupils and families from September 2021 and are in line with current government guidelines:

· The bubble system will end – pupils will have opportunities to mix with other year groups and are no longer required to be kept in consistent bubbles

 · Daily assemblies of different groups will begin again

· We will retain a staggered lunch but with packed lunches no longer in the classrooms or the need for children not to mix at lunchtime

 · No contact tracing by school will take place – this will be undertaken by the NHS Test and Trace and no self-isolation for children if contacted as a close contact

 · The wearing for face coverings for staff will be voluntary within communal areas – visitors may be requested to wear a face covering when in a face-to-face school meeting:

 · The staggered start to the day will be retained from 8.40am until 8.55am

 · The staggered end to the school day will finish and school will close at 3.15pm

· PE kit can be worn for PE days but this must be school kit and not casual wear

· Visits, events and visitors to school will be reintroduced but risk assessments will take place

· After school activities will be reintroduced

· Breakfast and After School Club bubbles will end under the supervision of CUBA Kids.

Please be aware that these measures could change but only in the event of a significant outbreak or on advice from Public Health.

Our main control measures will be as follows:

 · Good hygiene regimes to continue – regular handwashing etc.

 · Maintaining school cleaning procedures in classrooms and corridors

· Good ventilation around school to continue

· Co-operation with Newcastle Public Health

We continue to maintain that pupils should not come into school if they have symptoms, have had a positive test or other reasons requiring them to stay at home due to the risk of them passing on COVID-19. Anyone developing symptoms, however mild, should stay at home.

Thanks again for supporting our  COVID measures and we look forward to a great term!
