Note that the Secretary of State for Education has stated that schools will not be open for key worker care over the summer holidays. Watch this space for opportunities for summer community activity events. We are open for year 6 and key worker pupils from Monday 15th June. Outdoor Learning Program

Every week the Hextol Gardeners come in to work with groups of pupils in order to look after our Forest School area. Our first job this term has been to clear out the planters around school and harvest the fruit.

At Westerhope we love getting outside to undertake learning activities and experience life outside the classroom.

Mr Brown has a timetable to work with every class in the school on outdoor adventure activities. One of the first skills is to learn the 'respect position' when lighting a fire.

We sometimes like to go outside just to share a story. Mr Brown sets up the tents so that we can have some extreme reading!

Mr Brown will be keeping us updated about the work going on outdoors. This year all of our classes will be participating in Forest School activities. We are also developing the outdoor area and our experiences outside the classroom. Watch this space for more information in the coming days.
