Spring 2

⭐️⭐️⭐️We are so proud to share our stars for this week ⭐️⭐️⭐️
They have all settled back into school so well and are trying so hard with their learning.

🏅Well Done!🏅

Take a look at the lovely activities we have been enjoying these last few weeks. We are thinking about Spring: looking for Spring flowers in the garden, making our own flowers, learning  spring rhymes, and learning new vocabulary about the parts of a flower.  We have been ordering numbers, making groups of 10 on our ten frames and learning the names of 3D shapes. We have a new alphabet resources which encourages us to learn our sounds, sequence the letters and make words.

Those Reception fairies have been sprinkling their magic again in the classroom! We can’t wait for our lovely learners to explore this wonderful nature inspired maths area

Our ‘Take a moment’ to observe, talk, explore, wonder and question about our new wriggly residents has been very popular this week!

We have had a wonderful day celebrating ‘Comic Relief 2021’ ♥️♥️♥️

Here are this weeks little stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of these children has collected 4 medals!!!

What better way to start a Monday morning than with a beautiful nature walk looking for signs of spring 🌸 🌻 🍃

We are all so happy to be back together. Reception you are all superstars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Here are our wonderful ‘Back to School’ stars ⭐️

We can't express how happy we are to all be back together again!

We have smiled, played, danced, explored, talked and used this wonderful recipe below to ease our lovely little learners back in to Reception life...

Here is our Spring 2 Topic planner - we are excited to begin this lovely Springtime learning.

As we welcome the wonderful season of Spring, we begin with learning about rain.

This week our lovely little ones have been listening to rain inspired stories, creating a rain dance, exploring musical instruments to recreate rain sounds, writing about feelings linked with our class book Cyril The Lonely Cloud, using their imagination during a flooded small world village play and many more rain inspired learning!

This week we have been learning about 'mountains'.

We listened to the story 'Mabel and the Mountain'. We though about what our 'Big Plan' would be - something that we thought would be tricky to do but we would like to give it a try...… just like Mabel, who wanted to climb a mountain!

We watched a video of people doing activities in the mountains, like skiing and climbing.

We made a poster together about what we knew about mountains already...we knew a lot. We then learned lots of new facts about mountains, including the names of some famous mountains and then talked about it before doing our own piece of writing.

Some friends made mountains in the sand and could tell me which mountain it was...Table Mountain and Mount Everest! Clever!!

Others painted mountains and we all drew a picture of ourselves to stick onto the mountain to show us climbing up.

Our imaginative small world play was a mountain and valley scene, with grass, river, rocks and boulders and animals.
