Spring 1

This half term, we will be discovering all there is to know about the world of dragons! We will be writing our own newspaper reports and information texts. In maths, we are finding out about written methods of multiplication and fractions. And we will be finding out all about the Anglo-Saxons. We had an absolutely amazing time at Jarrow Hall! It was brilliant to see and experience life in the Anglo-Saxon era. Take a look at what we got up to

6.2.18 Today we were joined by Mrs Russell! We loved developing our talk the text skills and making reasoned individual responses to the text. We also tried to recommend books in 2 sentences. Fantastic work Year 4!

5.2.18 Our Trip

For our trip, please can you wear your school uniform, a warm waterproof coat and suitable footwear for walking.  You will also need a packed lunch. As our time is limited unfortunately we will not get time to visit the gift shop so you do not need to bring money. Thank you!

30.1.18 Inspire workshop

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Times Table workshop- It was a delight to work with you all today! Remember to use our learning support page if you want to find any demonstrations of our calculations. We know that working together we can get the best for our children. Thank you!

28.1.18 A very busy day!

We were visited today by the school nurse and discussed relationships and friendships, we investigated vocabulary and found out what area means. 

Just a little reminder that we have our Inspire Times Table workshop this Tuesday from 9:00-9:30. We hope you can make it! 

24.1.18 Wow! Year 4 wrote in role today, as Beowulf, to recount events from their class reader. They created diaries full of evidence from the story as well as brilliant viewpoint and use of emotion. Well done 👍

22.1.18 Investigating telephones

We had a fantastic time investigating how sound travels through different mediums. We created our own string telephones and explored how it works best. Did you know sound can travel round a corner?

18.1.18 What a busy day in Year 4! As well as enjoying some time outside in the snow, the children were brilliant in our topic lesson. They described life for the Romans, Britons, Anglo Saxons and Picts at the time of the first Anglo Saxon invasion before finding more out about village life.

16.1.18 French animals

We have been having lots of fun in our French lessons today. We have learnt lots of the names for French pets and used this knowledge to find them in word searches. Well done everyone! If you want more practise, have a look on the link below. 

18.1.18 - Fun in the snow! Everyone had a great time making the most of all the snow, teachers included!

15.1.18 Our Science Sound Walk

We had a fantastic time today listening for sounds around school. We predicted where would be the quietest and loudest places in school and went to investigate. Great learning everyone! 

15.1.18 Mathletics Homework

12.1.18 Year 4 are continuing to develop their knowledge of news reports and impressed us with their cold writes. Each class then worked together to edit their report by shared writing a second draft. Great language features!

9.1.18 We had a fantastic time investigating newspapers! We found lots of interesting facts and saw how newspapers are different to story writing. Super learning everyone!
