The children have worked very hard when investigating the crime of 'The stolen painting'.
From the information we gathered, we were able to eliminate Mrs Purdy and Mrs Coker because they have the smallest feet and never usually wear trainers to school.
OH NO! There has been a break in!! The wonderful and expensive painting named 'Life' has been stolen from the school. It is up to the pupils of Westerhope to solve the crime! We are holding a 'WHO DUNNIT' investigation to eliminate suspects from the line up. Our own Mrs Phillip has been identified as one of the suspects - we hope we can prove that she didn't do it!
Year 1 have been given the job of investigating the footprint that was found at the crime scene. Have a look at the information we collected...

Road Safety
The children had a visit from Jo and Tessie who came to tell them how to KEEP SAFE when they are out and about, near roads and travelling by foot, scooter, bike and car.
We learnt how to cross a road safely:
Hold an adult's hand;
Find a safe crossing place;
Keep toes on the path when waiting to cross;
Don't run across the road;
Most importantly Remember
THE GREEN CROSS CODE:
THINK, STOP, LOOK, LISTEN.
We learnt how to keep safe when travelling in a car:
Wear a seat belt (don't put the belt under your arm);
Sit on a suitable car seat;
Don't distract the driver.
We learnt how to keep safe when travelling by bike:
ALWAYS wear a helmet;
Wear high visibility clothing (especially when it is dark);
Use lights if it is dark;
Be sensible on roads when you are riding your bike.
