Spring 2

What an amazing afternoon Year 3 are having! We have had three bee specialists in our room to work with us. Look at all the activities we were able to do.
What an amazing start to our STEM week! We have had two visitors already to tell us all about how important bees are. We have made biscuits using honey, tasted honey, used computing to find out bee facts and raised money by decorating biscuits for a bee charity. And it is only Tuesday! Watch this space to find out more...

2.4.19 Wow! Year 3 you were all star bakers! You used your cooking skills to make and evaluate your own honey chocolate chip biscuit.

Welcome to Year 3’s amazing landmark museum!

Just a quick reminder that we are swimming after the Easter holidays! Parents have all been sent the timetable as it is a little complicated! The children will be walking to and from the pool, so must have a coat with them on swimming days, just in case! Although we are convinced it will always be glorious sunshine.

The children will need a swimming costume (no bikinis girls) or swimming trunks, a towel and we will provide them with a swimming hat. Please put their kit into a carrier bag, as it is easier to get everything packed away than a drawstring bag. Thank you!

This week’s spellings are very tricky! We will not test the children until Friday 4th April. πŸ˜‰

What a super day we have had! We all managed to make a pitta pizza, a slice of healthy flapjack, granola bites and chocolate chip muffins. All the food we made was healthy and would be suitable for an athlete. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
The children have had a super week! We have been learning all about skeletons in Science and why our skeleton is so important. We went into our Forest School area to show off how much we knew.

Next Tuesday (26th March) Year 3 are going to be cooking (and tasting!) some healthy snacks as part of our Science work on animals and humans. If your child has an apron they would like to bring that would fabulous.

What a super Red Nose Day! Year 3 looked absolutely fabulous. Well done everyone.
Year 3 were really lucky today as we had a visitor from Chartwell’s food services. Georgie came in to help us with our new Science topic ‘Animsls including humans’ we had a fantastic time learning all about nutrition and how to plan healthy meals. We also got to make our very own healthy snack bars.😊😊😊😊

Here are the spellings for week beginning Monday 11th March, the children will be tested on Friday 15th March.

World Book Day in Year 3

Today we have all made an origami bookmark, read with Year 5, been on a book treasure hunt and enjoyed reading stories. What a brilliant day!

Here our the spellings for week beginning 04/03/19, the children will be tested on Friday 8th March.

This week we had a visit from our school nurse Jill. We found out lots about friendships and feelings. We have also taken part in friendly February - we have thought everyday about how to be a better friend. We loved it so much, we have decided to make our very own 'Marvellous March', we are going to think everyday about how we can make March just marvellous for everybody!

This half term we are still continuing with our topic of 'All around the World'. We can't wait to see some amazing projects.

Our class reader is 'The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips' by Michael Murpurgo.

We are planning to study animals including humans in Science. As part of this topic we will be having a brilliant food technology day, where the children will get to make lots of healthy recipes and then taste them all!
