Summer 1

Here are our brilliant windmills made in DT week. We love them!

In Maths today we have been finding halves of shapes. We learnt that a fraction is equal parts of a whole.

Our broad bean plants are doing really well and we are eagerly watching our sunflower seeds to spot the first shoot!

In Maths, we have been making equal groups and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to find totals.

We loved reading the poem, Spring Greens by Shirley Hughes. (The last line should read, Sun tucked up in a bed of cloud.)

We did an amazing job reading lines of poetry and matching them to the illustrations.

Here we are looking carefully at different seeds and spotting similarities and differences.

We had lots of fun exploring colour mixing. We made so many different colours!

In Art we have been learning how to mix primary colours to make secondary colours. We used these to paint a colour wheel.

We put our beans in the compost and then watered them carefully.

Our new Science topic is Plants. We were very excited today as we all got to plant a broad bean. We can't wait to watch them grow!
