Summer 2

Year 4 have enjoyed their pirate themed MADD week and are looking forward to seeing you all at the parade on Monday afternoon! Children can come into school on Monday wearing their pirate outfits 👍

We can’t wait to get started with our PIRATE themed MADD week next week!! If your child has a sword as part of their costume for Friday’s parade, if possible we would love to have the swords in school all week so we can use them in our dance rehearsals. Thank you.

This term our topic focus is all about being healthy. 

We will investigate keeping ourselves fit and active as well as how we can help keep the planet healthy.

We will be visiting the Gosforth Nature Reserve on Monday 10th June to discover all we can about habitats. Check out ParentPay for more details.

In our topic focus we will designing and making a healthy packed lunch where we will develop our baking, cutting, slicing, grating and spreading key skills.

Our text focus is the Paper Bag Prince which will allow us to discuss and think about the impact of recycling on the world around us!

We can’t wait to get started....

Year 4 are busy using Yeast ( a micro-organism) in their recipes for delicious bread buns. Later they will be slicing, chopping, spreading and seasoning some healthy salads and snacks to tuck in to...

We completed our germ and micro- organism comic strips, designed healthy menus and used a range of skills to make a healthy snack. Look at our concentration faces!!!

26.6.19 - We were lucky enough to have a visit from the author of Stitch Head Guy Bass. He was extremely funny and gave us a brilliant insight into what it takes to be an authour.

24.6.19 FOOD AWARENESS PROJECT - We were visited today by Jess who told us about the journey food goes on to reach our plate and how important it is not to waste food. Well done everyone!

18.6.19 Warburtons Workshops

We had a brilliant day with Gail from Warburtons! She told us about how to make healthy choices and we created our own sandwich creations. Do you think they look tasty?

Sports Week 2019

Sports Week: Monday session 1 We spent the morning outside cycling! What a treat!

Sports Week : Monday Session 2, we worked in teams to see what knowledge we had about our bodies by making and labelling a skeleton then we looked at an actual diagram so we could improve our knowledge and vocabulary.

Monday Session 3 we came up with our own ideas and created our own circuits. We exercised for 30 seconds then rested before moving around to the next circuit. Great exercising year 4!

Tuesday - we learnt about the sporting hero Mo Farah and created our own fact files before learning more about keeping ourselves healthy and healthy eating in the afternoon...
