V E Day or 'Victory in Europe Day'

This marks the day towards the end of World War Two (WW2) when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end. On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany's surrender the day before.  This year marks the 75th Anniversary.  We have added some information and fun activities for the children to do.  We hope you enjoy!

Why not try a daily maths lesson online? The White Rose Maths Team has prepared a series of five brand new maths lessons each week for each year group from Years 1-8. Every lesson comes with a short video showing you clearly and simply how to help your child to complete the activity successfully. The objectives covered would be the ones we would cover if school was open so it is a great way to keep up to date with your maths learning.
