Spring Term 2023

Eggs-cellent efforts made from Reception for the Easter Bonnet competition! We had a fantastic time hunting for eggs in our school garden too! Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the half-term break!

🐣 Wonderful Easter celebration in Nursery. Easter hat competition, Easter egg hunt and making Easter nests 🐣

A creative play and learning time to support our learners’ understanding of Easter time

Super resilience and perseverance was spotted today in Forest Friday! Some children worked independently to make their Easter cross and some children offered to help others too. Another fun day in the fresh air!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Super Sonic Phonic Friends Stay and Play in Reception!

Rainbow learning 🌈 has brought magic and wonder to our curious learners...

Looking for signs of spring today was difficult with all the snow we have had! Well done Reception for using amazing vocabulary and being so super resilient in the cold weather!

A gentle introduction to our learning of Spring flowers this morning 🌸 Such lovely Spring conversations amongst our flower artists.

We went on a worm hunt to add some wiggly friends to our very own wormery.

A Mini World Book Day Celebration in Nursery this morning. Lot's of costumes, favourite books shared and stories galore!!!

To celebrate a happy half term full of fun Forest Fridays, we listened to the story Fiery Fox Learns about Fire Safety by Teresa Davis and we made our own set of camp fire safety rules to follow before toasting our tasty marshmallows on a camp fire. Mmmm... what a yummy treat!

In our Forest Friday session this week we looked at a picture from the story Immi by Karin Littlewood. It inspired us to pretend we were in the Arctic trying to find shelter. We worked as a team to put up a tent and then sat inside it while listening to the story.

In our Forest Friday session, we learned that some birds eat berries, seeds and insects. This motivated us to go on an insect hunt! We learned all about how to treat insects with care and why they are important for our environment. Some of us even drew and labelled pictures of the insects we found - wow!

Our first Forest Friday was so much fun! We went on an adventure around our school site after looking at our school on a map. We looked for any signs of birds. We found lots of interesting things, like, nests, feathers, worms and lots of MUD! At the end of our session we made a muddy thumb print to declare that WE LOVE FOREST FRIDAYS!
