Ammar Mirza CBE, High Sheriff of Tyne and Wear awarded Westerhope Primary School with an award in recognition of dedicated and valuable service to the community.    We are very proud! 

We have been incredibly fortunate to take part in the PIE Project (Primary Inspiration through Enterprise), a mission dedicated to building effective business education in schools. Our Year 4 pupils were challenged to create and run a business and make a profit. They rose to the occasion brilliantly. Selling pick‑and‑mix bags and sweet treats at Sports Day, they demonstrated initiative, creativity, and impressive business acumen. Their hard work paid off: they made over £400 in profit!   This fantastic achievement has now been recognised with a £1,000 cash prize for outstanding enterprise performance. During a special assembly, we welcomed distinguished visitors who presented the award. Ammar Mirza CBE, founder of the PIE charity, joined us to celebrate with the Year 4 children and the wider KS2 community.   We are incredibly proud of our pupils and the staff who supported them throughout this project. Well done, everyone!

Class 7 had a great adventure trip visiting Oli and Joes.   The children were able to use real life skills including: map reading  money crossing roads (Pedestrian Training) conversations at a dinner table    They all enjoyed their meal.    Thank you to Oli and Joes for having us! 

Year 5 enjoyed making a bolognaise bake in food technology as well as a sea themed clay creation when we visited Studio West today.
