Miss Wood led a fabulous Zumba session for Year 6 this afternoon, even though the rain tried to dampen our spirits, we still powered through! Thank you Miss Wood. 

Despite the threat of rain, we had a wonderful sports day. Here are some of the photos from the afternoon. Thanks so much to all the parents for supporting us!

Year 6 had a fabulous time yesterday when we had a go at some circus skills. We tried headstands, tight rope walking, hula hooping and flower sticks. It was a LOT of fun! 

Year 3 have been getting creative with the recyclable materials which we received from our generous school community. This is Westerhope's entry in a competition to create a recycled 'notice board' in honour of Sir David Attenborough's birthday.

Today Year 6 created their very own three course meals in the style of Come dine with me. In teams of six, they made a starter using red pepper, a main course using a salmon fillet and a dessert using fresh pineapple. The results were amazing! The children thoroughly enjoyed preparing, making and of course tasting! They were even happy to do the washing up, I think! 

Year 6 have had a fabulous day at the coast. We started in Cullercoats bay where we studied some geographical features: erosion cracks, an arch and caves. We walked to Whitley bay to carry out a fieldwork investigation of a beach transect. As we travelled towards the lighthouse, we looked at longshore drift and sea defences. The children were brilliant! Great ambassadors for Westerhope.
