Extra Curricular Clubs

At Westerhope, our aim is provide a range of extra-curricular activities across the year for a range of different year groups. This programme of activities is something we hope to develop. If any member of the school community would like to help us with this, please contact school admin admin@westerhope.newcastle.sch.uk.   

Digital Leaders Club

Year 3, 4, 5 and 6

Monday 28th February until Monday 4th April (6 Weeks)

 

This club is a chance for our digital leaders to meet. It is their role to ensure technology is being used across all of the school. 

The aims are :

  • to embed technology across the whole curriculum.
  • to ensure the technology enhances our learning in the best way.
  • to make computing accessible to all.

This half term our digital leaders will be running computing lunchtime clubs for other year groups and creating the 'Digital Leaders' section on our school website!

Basketball and Netball Club

Year 4, 5 and 6

Monday 28th February until Monday 21st March (4 Weeks)

 

Over the 4-week block of sessions the children will learn the rules and tactics of basketball and netball. They will be able to run, jump, dribble and change direction in isolation then put their skills into small, competitive games. Throughout the sessions they will also be encouraged to use teamwork to improve their attack. 

Year 6 Maths Club

We are starting an optional maths club for Year 6 children in preparation for their SATs in May.

 

It will take place on the following dates from 8:20 -8:45am in Class 13’s room:

Tuesday 8th March, Wednesday 9th March, Tuesday 15th March, Wednesday 16th March, Tuesday 22nd March, Wednesday 23rd March, Tuesday 29th March,

Wednesday 30th March, Tuesday 5th April, Wednesday 6th April, Tuesday 26th April,

Wednesday 27th April, Tuesday 3rd May and Wednesday 4th May.
