Our last celebration assembly of the year brought lots of Christmas cheer! The staff performed ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ which was super and felt very festive.

We then had a football star, a dancer and our first ever ‘bird call’ impression - what a treat!

We also celebrated one of our first Junior Duke children who completed their first cookery task. We are looking forward to seeing what they achieve next 😁

  • Christmas has started!

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

This morning we had our favourite assembly of the year - decorating the 🎄 Christmas tree.

Every class made super, large decorations this year and they look great.

We also celebrated talents today: football stars, a talented knitter, a talented dancer and a Timestable Rockstars hero 😁

We also have a picture of our stars from last week.

We also heard our Dazzling Descants, our choir and a talented child play the flute! We really do have musical children!

Welcome to the start of Christmas everyone!

  • Year 5/6 Dance club presentation

Tue 28 Nov 2023 Mrs Dalkin

Some children from Years 5/6 have been working with Eliot Smith Dance company to produce a presentation on the importance of looking after our rivers. The children joined workshops for six weeks and then we invited our parents/carers to come and watch the video. They were all very impressed at how well our dancers performed. Well done everyone and a big thank you to Eliot Smith for arranging. 😊

  • Year 6 Baltic Open Submission - 'Marras'

Fri 24 Nov 2023 Mrs Thompson

Year 6 have produced some amazing artwork with the theme, 'flat, yet sculptural.' The artwork in Fenwick's window this year is created using a 'flat, yet sculptural' theme too. We like to think Fenwick's graphic designers have been inspired by the works of our wonderful Year 6 artists!

The children used the challenging techniques of 'grid method' and 'scaling up' to create an exhibition of canine friends inspired by artist Lubaina Himid's 'flat, yet sculptural' works.

Our exceptional school cleaners and dog enthusiasts picked a selection of their favourites for inclusion in the Year 6 entry to the Baltic Open Submission 2024. If selected, the piece would be on display as part of an exhibition by local artists at the Baltic. We have been very excited about this submission.

The artwork is titled 'Marras' in a nod to the fact the dogs look as though they are pals, and the Geordie term for 'mates'. Let's keep our fingers crossed for further good news about our entry in Spring!
