  • Celebration Assembly

    Fri 30 Jun 2023

Today we had another opportunity to talk about cheerleading! We had a superstar who showed the school her dazzling outfit and even showed us an impressive cheerleading move - what a star!

We also had a purple kickboxing belt on show and we know there will be a black belt in her future - well done 👏

This was our last celebration assembly for 2022/23 but we can’t wait to see the talents and hobbies our children share with us next  year!

    Wed 28 Jun 2023

Year 4 loved their trip to Whickham Thorns. Even though it rained ALL day, they embraced being outside and took part in all of the activities. Well done Year 4, you showed great resilience and determination.

A big THANK YOU to Greig at the School of Kindness for giving our Year 5's this valuable opportunity (and a fancy kindness badge, which we love!).

    Mon 26 Jun 2023

Twelve of our year 5 children visited West Denton Primary school to take part in a cycling competition with Simonside Primary School and other schools across the trust.

Well done to all of the children who took part. We managed to get some low times around the track. We will find out in the next few weeks how well we performed against the other schools in our trust.

  • Hama Bead Raffle

Fri 23 Jun 2023 Mrs Thompson

The Hama Bead raffle proved to be very popular with a further  £105.10 raised for our school charity, Heel & Toe.

The draw took place during our celebration assembly this week. Well done to all 11 winners.

For one winner in Year 2, they were delighted to announce to the rest of the school that this was the first time they had won anything in a raffle.

Another winner in Year 3 proved that it can take only one ticket to win if luck is on your side!

  • Year 6 Food and Nutrition

Thu 22 Jun 2023 Mrs Dalkin

What a brilliant day Year 6 have had. We have managed to make 10 portions of spaghetti bolognaise! Every child worked in a small group to make a healthy bolognaise sauce. No unhealthy processed food, no jars of bought pasta sauce, it was all from scratch. We even made our own garlic bread. We all tried our creations and it was definitely a success. Well done Year 6, I hope you will share your recipes with everyone at home and impress them all as much as you impressed me.

  • Good to be British Day

    Mon 19 Jun 2023

We celebrated British Values in school and had lots of visitors in to chat to us.
Year 4 had our local councillor Marc Donnelly come to discuss his role and what his job looks like.
We also had Loti Nambombe speak to all of key stage 2 who discussed all of the values in depth and his personal challenges with diversity in his life.
