  • Year 6 Safety Works Visit

    Fri 26 May 2023

Year 6 took a trip to Safety Works to find out all about keeping safe when we are out and about! There were 5 different stations: road safety, water safety, safety around dogs, fire safety around BBQs and metro safety.

  • Celebration Assembly

    Fri 26 May 2023

Once again we celebrated our talented children in assembly. Hama Bead club raised a super £66 for our school charity; Dazzling Descants (our recorder ensemble) were congratulated for their live performance for Nursery and we had a skilled female footballer and a basket ball star of the future.

Also, last week we had talented swimmers and clay artists.

The children were also excited to be reminded of our Westerhope's Got Talent which will be on the last day of the school year - auditions will happen next half term!

This was a great end to our first summer half term and we are excited about what is still to come. Well done everyone!

  • Miss Stewart

    Fri 26 May 2023

Miss Stewart is soon to become Mrs Bradbury! We celebrated her impending nuptials in school and all classes visited with a gift. We are very excited to hear about her wonderful day and look forward to welcoming the new Mrs Bradbury when we return to school after half term.

  • Good to be British Day Year 5

    Thu 25 May 2023

Year 5 had a great day celebrating 'Good to be British Day'.

They had visits from Ms Kilpatrick about democracy and a lady called Deanna, who told them all about her religion of Judaism.

We also learned all about Nelson Mandela and his individual liberty work.

  • Hama Bead Club Sale

Wed 24 May 2023 Mrs Thompson

    Wow! The brilliantly supported
Hama Bead Sale raised a whopping
£66 pounds for Heel & Toe.

A note for next time around... we need to make double
the amount of keyrings and trinkets - it was so popular!

A huge thank you to the Year 3 and 4 children who attend Hama Bead Club. An absolutely brilliant, hard working bunch - they have showed off their creative skills and dexterity superbly in creating their designs and keyrings.

An extra special thank you to one club member and her family... creating over 40 designs at home and donating them for the sale. You know who you are!

  • Good to be British Day in Year 1

Wed 24 May 2023 Mrs Phillip

We were very lucky to have a visit today from PC Michael to support our work on British values today. PC Michael talked about how the police help to keep us safe, how to ring for the emergency services and what to do if we get lost. We also got to try on PC Michael's hats and hold his laser gun which measures how fast cars are driving!

  • Year 1 visit Kirkley Hall

Wed 24 May 2023 Mrs Phillip

We had a fantastic time at Kirkley Hall. We loved learning about the animals and finding out where they live in the wild and what they eat. We even got to feed and touch some of the animals. We had an exciting time at lunch-time as a peacock came to visit us! Such a lovely day with such well-behaved children!

  • Clay Club

Wed 24 May 2023 Mrs Phillip

The Year 4 have really enjoyed attending Clay Club this half term learning some new skills as they made a clay tile and a pencil pot. They are very proud of the results!

  • ‘Good to be British Day’ was so much fun in Reception! Our super star learners explored their understanding of British Values through inquisitive play and curiosity, and with two wonderful visitors, Ms Kilpatrick talking about Democracy in her other role out of school, and PCS Michael, sharing his knowledge of how he keeps people safe in the community.

Wed 24 May 2023 Mrs Hay and Miss Ellis
  • OPAL Club!

Tue 23 May 2023 Miss Ellis

Year 3 have so much fun in OPAL club. From playing football, exploring the water area, making bubbles to firing rockets, we always find great ways to play together and communicate effectively. Thank you to a wonderful parent who brought us some exciting things to play with this week!
