  • Science Week

    Fri 13 Mar 2026

We have had a fantastic time celebrating Science Week in school. It has been a week full of curiosity, questions and exciting investigations. Students explored lots of interesting scientific ideas, including questions such as: Does toast always land butter-side down? What might be the dirtiest place in school? and why don’t boats sink?

  • Year 3 Newcastle Tour

    Wed 11 Mar 2026

Year 3 travelled on the public bus to take part in an exciting tour around the beautiful sights of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The children visited places like Grey’s Monument, Grainger Market and St James’ Park.

They used their map skills to locate all of the places they visited.

Back at school the children are going to write their own tour guides about Newcastle.

  • Celebration Assembly

    Fri 06 Mar 2026

Another super Friday assembly! Class 8 dazzled us with their singing and dancing and the recorder club even played us all into assembly which was an excellent start to the day.

We had a gymnast, dancer and Lego builder sharing their successes and one of our Year 3 children earned their bronze music merit badge.

What an excellent end to the week. Well done Westerhope!

  • Our Football Team

    Fri 06 Mar 2026

Yesterday the children played their final matches in the Duffy League. The children were the perfect example of what our Westerhope children are: kind, supportive, determined, resilient and role models. We saw impressive footwork, speed, persistent tackling and some superb saves in goal.

We are very proud of you, well done!👏

  • Celebration Assemblies an Pupil Leadership

    Fri 27 Feb 2026

Every week we have a celebration assembly and each week we share a variety of hobbies and talents.

We have also been celebrating our Pupil Leadership lunchtime clubs. Dance Club and Singing Club have performed for the whole school and they were amazing. We watched an incredible dance and singing club sang Firework. They prepared their performances without any adult support and performed with confidence and broad smiling faces. We are very proud of our children 😊
