• Excitement in Year 1!

  The Year 1 children were super excited today when we had a delivery of eggs! We are looking forward to seeing the baby chicks one day this week!

  

• Science club

  Science club got off to a great start last week. We looked at inspirational scientist, Rosalind Franklin and even extracted DNA from strawberries! Mrs Baty is looking forward to this week’s session.

  

• Friday Celebration Assembly

  This week we celebrated the children’s achievements during DT Week. The outcomes were amazing and the children were keen to demonstrate their projects for the whole school. We were all very impressed - well done Westerhope!

• Jack and the Beanstalk!

  This week Reception have been inspired by the story Jack and the Beanstalk. We have done so many lovely activities related to the story but our favourite has been imagining we are Jack climbing up whilst we tackled our steep slopes in Forest Friday! Well done to all for your amazing bravery and determination! 

  

• Maths Enterprise Week

  We had an amazing time during our Enterprise Week!

  The children had £40 to come up with products to sell at a fair and they were able to keep the profit made to spend on something for their classes! 

  The products being sold were excellent and there were a lot of very happy children at the end of the week. 

  

• Pupil Committee Litter Picking

  The sunshine came out so the pupil committee grabbed their litter pickers and got busy clearing our school grounds.

  We found a surprising amount of litter outside and spent some time clearing the year 1 outdoor area. We are currently planning how this year 1 area could be better utilised. Watch this space!

• Steve and Karen's visit!!

  Today, Class 10 were very lucky to have a visit from Steve and Karen (from Metro Radio) and the Easter Bunny today! They were celebrating their re-incarnation as an Easter Egg creation and gave every member of Class 10 an Easter egg. What an eggs-cellent treat!!!

  

• Year 2 Art Club

  Year 2 had a wonderful time at Art club this half term exploring water colours! We built upon our skills each week and had lots of fun. 

  

• Whorlton Grange Care Home Visit

  The Pupil Committee loved their visit to Whorlton Grange care home where they volunteered to spend time with the residents to make Easter cards. The cards could then be gifted to the resident's loved ones at Easter. We cannot wait to return for more fun activities. One of the children said it was "The best day ever".
