  • Urban Green charity litter picking in our local community!

Tue 16 May 2023 Miss Forster

A wonderful volunteer, Jo Ellis from the charity, Urban Green facilitated our litter picking event in our local Westerhope Park. The pupil committee had a wonderful time in the sunshine collecting seven bags of rubbish including large cardboard boxes and giant plastic bottles.

Jo kindly said we are "all part of the green team now".

    Well done Pupil Committee!

  • Kind news in our community!

Mon 15 May 2023 Mrs Hay

Look at this fantastic photograph of a super kind Year 1 learner, who's aim is to, in his own words, "Save the world”. This kind boy has started a litter picking club and recently this has been recognised by Newcastle City Council due to the fantastic work he has been doing in Westerhope and the surrounding areas with litter picking. He has now collected 56 bags of rubbish off the streets!

A big thank you to his proud parents for sharing this wonderful kind news! We are so proud of him too! What an inspiration.

Here is a great photograph of our kind super star with the newly elected councillor, Adam Mitchel.

  • Children’s Mental Health Week

Mon 15 May 2023 Mrs Hay

This afternoon we took part in a virtual kindness assembly with Greig from the 52 Lives School of Kindness. We learned about the importance of our well-being and looking after our bodies and mind. Together, we discussed the feelings of anxiety and how that can present itself, and explored ways of helping us feel calmer.
