Digital Leaders visit RGS
Fri 03 Mar 2023Three of our digital leaders in year 4 had the opportunity to visit RGS school to take part in a computing event organised within our OWL trust.
The children were tasked with creating their very own arcade game by building the casing and programming the electronics to work.
They spent the morning creating the casing and then attaching the electronics.
They will visit RGS again on the 17th March to finish the electrics and programme the game to work.

Class 11 camp fire treat!
Fri 03 Mar 2023Class 11 had the tidiest welly stand last half term therefore they were lucky enough to roast marshmallows next to the camp fire in the garden with Miss Ellis this afternoon.
They really enjoyed their prize especially eating the gooey marshmallows.
They are hoping that they win the tidiest welly next time for another marshmallow treat!

Year 5 Science week
Fri 03 Mar 2023Year 5 have had a great science week learning all about bacteria.
They had a visitor called Helen Hooper from Northumbria University and they learned lots about bacteria during the week.
Of course, they took part in the tea dunking whole school investigation and they found out it took rich tea biscuits an average of 28 dunks! Who would have thought!
Year 5 are lucky enough to continue with their bacteria learning with more visits from Dr Helen Hooper and a visit to the labs at Northumbria University in the summer term.

Year 4 Science Week
Fri 03 Mar 2023We have been loving our Science Week all about connections. We have been making a connection to nature and a real life scientist. Year 4 had a special visitor called Mike Jeffries who works at Northumbria University. He came to talk to us all about ponds and climate change.
We had a whole school challenge to see which biscuit was the best biscuit to dunk into a cup of tea! We tested the shortbread biscuit which had an average of 24 dunks before it fell into the hot water!

Y4 Reading with our Year 1 Special Friends
Fri 03 Mar 2023Year 4 and Year 1 paired up with their special friends to read together for World Book Day. We love to see each other and love the bond we are growing during the year! Well done everyone ☺️

A Mini World Book Day celebration in Nursery
Wed 01 Mar 2023Our Nursery children celebrated World Book Day today. We had some amazing outfits and enjoyed lots of stories! What a lovely morning celebrating our love of books and stories.
