  It has been wonderful seeing so many of our parents in school this week looking at their children’s work. The children have really impressed us with the discussions of their learning. Well done Westerhope!

  

• Year 5 visit Great North Museum!

  Today, the children had a great time visit9ing the Great North Museum. 

   

  They visited the planetarium as part of their Earth and Space science area of study and learned all about the solar system including the stars and planets. 

   

  They also looked around the Ancient Greece section to support their history learning.

• KS2 Board Game Club

  Great to see the children working in partnership with one another.  Having some competitive fun and experiencing new games. 

  

• Year 5 Visit St John’s Church

  Today the children in year 5 walked down to St John’s church as part of their RE learning. 

   

  Rev’d Matthew talked about the history of the church and Christianity. 

   

  He also showed the children what would happen during a wedding ceremony and a christening. 

   

  Three of our children stood up and read the readings for this Sunday’s service and one person became the preacher and talked about what the readings meant. 

   

  We really enjoyed looking around the church and bringing our RE learning to life. 

  

• Celebration superstars!

  In our celebration assembly today we had even more talented children share their successes. We had a gymnast, a dancer, a group of future engineers and a fund raiser! Absolutely super! Well done all of you. 

  

• Class Show and Tell Assembly

  Wow Class 3! This was your first ever class assembly and you were all amazing! You told us all about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot and your voices were clear enough to be heard at the back of the hall! Well done everyone, we are very proud of you.

  Today we made beautiful bacon and egg muffins! They were definitely as good as McDonalds, if not better!

• Recycling through school!

  Thank you to our parents, carers and community for donating unwanted clothing, bags, shoes and accessories to our on-site recycling bin. It has helped raise money for school and reduce UK landfill waste!
