• Our first Friday celebration assembly of the year

  What a fantastic start to the year! We know Westerhope children are talented and kind but this assembly demonstrated this once again.

   

  Today we had:

  - children (and staff) who took part in the Great North Run and raised money for charity

  - dancing superstars

  - a super little girl who made her own hama bead products and sold them to raise money for the school charity 

  - super readers who completed the city library reading challenge

  - a talented writer who wrote our new Friday school prayer - 🤩 

   

  Well done everyone! This is the best part of the week and I can only imagine what you will share with school in the coming weeks. 

   

   

  

• Year 1 Fun!

  What a wonderful start to year 1!

  We have loved exploring our new classroom during 'Play to Learn' time and doing busy jobs with our new teachers. 

   

  

• Attendance Reward Fun!

  We have had a fantastic day in the glorious sun, playing on the bouncy castle and giant slide. All children who achieved 96% or above last year for their attendance were able to play in the morning and during lunchtime - the slide was very popular. In the afternoon all children in school had the opportunity to play on the inflatables and fun was certainly had by all. We even saw the adults sneak on! We plan to have a similar reward at the end of this academic year and hopefully even more children will reach the 96% target. 

  

• Welcome back!

  Welcome back everyone! We hope you have had a super summer and are ready to be back. The children have come into school looking smart and excited to be in their new classes. You will receive our first newsletter and it can also be found on the website.

  Watch out for our beach trip, Yr5 iPad session this week and the Welcome Meetings next week.

• Teddy Bears' Picnic

  Nursery enjoyed their end of year Teddy Bears' Picnic celebration. Lots of fun songs, dances and food!

  

• Pre-loved Uniform Boutique

  Our pre-loved uniform boutique was a success at Westy Festy on Friday! It will make a return on this Friday morning (21st July) between 8am and 8:30am outside the school office. Donations will go towards our school fund and our school charity, Heel and Toe. 

  

• Westy Festy 2023

  What a wonderful afternoon we had to showcase ‘Our Wonderful World!’  The children performed their hearts out and the playground was filled with so much joy and happiness.  

  What an amazing way to end a fabulous year of learning - thank you Westerhope!
