  • Year 3 - The Magic Flute

    Tue 19 Mar 2024

Our year 3 children travelled to the Newcastle Civic Centre to take  part the Magic Flute performance.

Throughout this half term they have been learning songs from The Magic Flute by Mozart.

They really enjoyed learning new songs and joining in with the songs they have been learning in school.

On Friday, they will be performing in front of the whole school.

  • Year 3 & 4 Football Tournament

Thu 14 Mar 2024 Mrs Thompson

Our newly formed (this week!) Year 3 & 4 Football Team went to an 'Outer West' tournament at Walbottle Academy on Thursday afternoon.

They had the brilliant to opportunity to play against three other teams, drawing one match, and losing two matches to some very tough opponents. The children were excellent representatives for our school - the epitome of excellent team spirit with a hardworking ethic.

The afternoon had it all... super diving saves, brilliant defending, superb fitness on display.

Without doubt, Mrs Thompson's 'man of the tournament' went to JM for some absolutely inspired defending.

Mrs T was so impressed by the team's conduct on the way to Walbottle on the public bus - the driver commented how polite all the children were in thanking him. Their excellent conduct continued throughout the matches, observing the referees requests to the letter, and congratulating the other teams afterwards.

What a great start to your Westerhope footballing journey!

  • Celebration Assembly

    Sun 10 Mar 2024

Today we celebrated our musicians, We have some very talented children and today we had recorders, ocarinas, a cello, a flute and two guitars. We also awarded our first ever music merits! There are certainty going to be many more musical performances  in school and we are excited to see how many more children will achieve merits this year - Well done Westerhope!

Our Friday show and tell was as varied as usual and for the first time ever one of our pupils brought in a ‘brailer’ and we learnt a little about how visually impaired people read brail. Our Friday assemblies really are the best!
